SSRic plants an hectar of vineyard and recovers the level of wine activity of the XVIIIth century

This week have been finished the tasks for the recovery of one hectar of vineyard with the grape varieties Callet and Merlot, that will be managed under the organic agriculture rules into the estate of Son Sureda Ric.

Born 2008 wines as they become finalized fermentations

The latest vintage of 2008 (Cabernet Sauvignon) was conducted last Oct. 7. Currently the wines are finalizing the alcoholic fermentation and initiating malolactic. The proper maturation of the grapes until the end has resulted in soft tannins, intense colour and an alcohol content between 14 and 15%.

SON SUREDA RIC GRAPE'S 2008: "Terroir expression"

The climatology of the current August and the last July is suitable to come to a full ripeness of the grape at the estate Son Sureda Ric. The absence of rains is provoking a water stress in the vineyard that favours the accumulation of aromas, tannins and colour.

We have eliminated a part of the grape to guarantee the final quality of the wine

During the first days of August  a part of the Tempranillo's grape has been eliminated by hand. In this first selection our intention is to adjust the load of grape in every plant  to obtain a complete and ideal ripeness of the fruit.

The evolution of the vineyard during 2008 is favourable

In spite of the copious rains of May and June of this 2008, the vineyard is evolving favourably and a scanty vintage is waited but of high quality.

Cerval 06 is the first wine that has been elaborated by grape of the own estate.

This one is the first wine that has been elaborated with grape of the estate Son Sureda Ric since it was replanted in 2003. The wine will need slightly more than one year of aging in bottle before being suitable for his marketing.

Our winery is the first one in the Balearic Islands to implement SECOVIB software

The software SECOVIB replaces the books of the winery and allows, to the governmental control organisms, a follow-up of the production in a real time. The traceability is another prominent advantage of this program.
